Created the State of Nevada’s first Office of Diplomatic Relations & Protocol and served as its chief, 1998-2013, as well the Global Trade Representative for the Commission on Economic Development for the State of Nevada. Founded the Nevada Consular Corps Board, taking the four existing Consuls General in Nevada and growing the Corps to 30 members (20% women), representing 26 countries. In 2012, chaired the International Governor’s Lunch at the Smith Center – the first international lunch hosted by a Nevada Governor
Serves on the boards of the Nevada International Woman’s Forum, Japan America Society, Nevada India Association; Served as President of the Nevada Committee on Foreign Relations and was a founding member of both the Black Mountain Institute and the Protocol & Diplomacy International – Protocol Officers Association, the first formally organized international group of professional protocol officers. Currently Honorary board member of the Nevada Center for Research and Policy.
Received awards from the governments of El Salvador, Honduras, Japan, Paraguay, Peru, Romania, Sweden, and Uruguay; Privileged to meet their Royal Highnesses, the Queen of England and King of Sweden; the Emperor and Empress of Japan; presidents of Argentina, Cyrus, Paraguay, South Africa, and Uruguay; and, personally hosted the First Ladies of Guatemala and Honduras. Served as Orange County, California’s Chief of Protocol as well as the Executive Director of its International Visitors Program, during which tenure, asked by the US State Department to assist in arrangements for the funeral of President Nixon, working with the Secret Service, FBI, and foreign Consulates in preparation for the arrival of their heads of state, and welcoming arriving dignitaries, including the former Premier of China, Zhu Rongji.
Graduated from the Leticia Baldrige School of Protocol and Business in Washington, DC and Goldenwest College in Orange County.
