POSITION SUMMARIES

Marketing & Communications Intern
Term: Spring Term: Jan 15 – May 31
Work Hours: ~20 hours/week (negotiable)
Location: Hybrid, both in office and remote

Create posts for all of WACLV’s social media platforms that promote WACLV programming and awareness of current global affairs
-
Engage public in WACLV programming through social media
-
Assist in developing social presence for other WACLV programs and services
-
Assist in creating content for newsletter and mass email communications
-
Conduct grant research and opportunities for funding
-
Assist in writing grant narratives and the application process
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES
-
Current undergraduate or graduate candidate, or degree in communications, marketing, education, international affairs, or related field
-
Experience working with social media, and graphic design
-
Familiar with Constant Contact
-
Dependability: follows instructions, consistently on time to meetings and events, ensures completion of projects and tasks, and responds to management direction
-
Communicator: excellent verbal and written communication skills and maintains open line of communication across all necessary parties
-
Organized: detail-oriented, efficient, consistent, accurate
-
Prioritization: effectively manages workload, meets deadlines
-

International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Intern
Term: Spring Term: Jan 15 – May 31
Work Hours: ~20 hours/week (negotiable)
Compensation: Unpaid (for now. Once confirmed, it may change to paid or course credit)
Location: Hybrid, both in office and remote
Work with the IVLP Programming staff on short/long term assignments, including:

Assist in coordinating professional appointments, logistical arrangements, cultural activities, and dinner hospitality for international visitors;
-
Help arrange WACLV community and educational programs;
-
Expand the current pool of resources through research;
-
Share daily administrative chores (copying, filing, updating database).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES
Current undergraduate or graduate candidate, or degree in communications, marketing, education, international affairs, or related field

Proficiency in MS Office

Proficiency in Internet research

Background and interest in international affairs

Ability to perform detail-oriented work under minimum supervision
