Culture & everyday life

From the published account

In an account published by Global Ties U.S., Mijung Lombardi welcomed ten International Visitor Leadership Program visitors from Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia. She and her Korean American friends prepared a meal that introduced their guests to Korean dishes and the traditions behind them.

The discussion moved from food to work, children and family life. A host’s own cultural experience became part of the visitors’ encounter with Southern Nevada.

The personal side of an exchange

The account describes homemade mung bean pancakes and a traditional platter of nine delicacies. Mijung explained how the dishes were prepared and what they meant. The published account does not give an exact dinner date.
